Court Date!

Woo-hoo!
We have a Court Date! We should be in front of a judge in Kemerovo in late June, and home with Owen in July. Still working on the travel details. There is a 10-Day Waiting Period after court that was being waived most of the time in this Region until about a month or so ago. Now they don't expect it to be waived. So if we try to fit everything into one trip it would mean a 27-day long trip to Russia. That is a looooong time. We were gone, what, six days on Trip 1, and I have to say it felt like we stepped into a time warp and came home about a year later. Or maybe that was just how much my body and mind aged in those six days. If I spent 27 days in a row there, I might just come back as a very, very old woman. We will probably do this in two trips. But...I know that coming home after Court will also be difficult. Leaving after Trip 1 was hard enough, but to be so close, so very close, and come home again without Owen will be painful.

But enough about pain and heartache. We have a date!! That is a very good thing. I was so worried about the judge going on vacation and leaving us hanging all summer. I wore the necklace I bought myself for Mother's Day that says "Mother" in Russian/Cyrillic for the first time yesterday as a good luck charm and it worked!

I am so happy for you!

It is sad that you have the 10 day waiting period. It is so hard to leave a child that is yours behind. But, I promise you all the heartache will be soon forgotten when you are home with him.

Our little Owen has been home with us 3 months? I keep recounting because it seems so short a time compared to the lifetime it already feels like. (in a good way) He is such a part of our family now!

You will be were we are soon!

Sweet. 10-day waiting period does no one any good. But, it goes very quick. And after it's all said and done, you don't even remember the crappy stuff you went through.

AWESOME NEWS!!!! Just the right amount of time to get things arranged for your older kids and pack for your trip. Enjoy these last few weeks as a family of 4.

I hear you about spending time in Novo. It didn't really effect me on the 1st trip, but boy the 2nd was murder (& we were only there for 4 days). I was in a funk and cried and cried until we got our babies. Skype saved me soo many times; just seeing my 2 at home helped so much.

Can't wait to see pictures of Owen.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!
